Things to ask... there are things he wants to ask, but isn't sure he should. But so many more that he just doesn't know enough to begin articulating questions.
"You can tell me you don't want to answer but... has there been anyone else? It's been a long time, I don't want to think you were alone for all of it," he hurries to explain. Not about jealousy or competition. Just, wanting to know who else has mattered, has given Cal a sense of belonging.
