Luke ignored Vader for the rest of the trip.

For a moment, he had almost forgotten who and what he was dealing with. A totally self centred, self absorbed creature of darkness, boiled in rage and suffering who wanted him to convert to his way of thinking and start up a second reign of terror and horror after killing Palpatine.

And in aid of doing that, they were going... to Naboo?

He wasn't really sure why they were on their way there. It was his mother's home world. It was Palpatine's home world. It was a paradise of water and greenery that had produced something so rotten and evil that the galaxy heaved to try and dislodge it from itself.

He stands in the cockpit's doorway, nursing his stump in his left hand and watching hyperspace, preparing for the shock of dropping back out again.

"If wishes were water, Tatooine would be an ocean," Luke snarks. "There's no benefit in just chewing over what happened again and again and again. It's like picking at scabs, instead of a nice little scar, you end up with infections and bleeding and more mess than ever."

Tell that to the Force. "The Force continues to show me visions of the three of us, together and happy."

He'd assumed it was taunting, showing him with the son Padmé prophesied. Seemed not.

"Sure, it's not at all responding to you dwelling and obsessing and using it to fuel your own darkness."

"There are other ways to do that."

Not that he wasn't dwelling, not that he didn't obsess. But there are other ways to funnel one's focus other than showing them how it could have worked.

"There is still running water, if you want fresh." Instead of what was on the ship - he cab pick up the water moving in the pipes.

"Or need the refresher."

"I need to get clearance to have a proper shower with this." He lifts his stump, with the medical apparatus still attached. "And I'm not sure there's much point washing when all I have to put on after is dirty and cut up clothing."

"There are sonics as well, but I can hail Bee Two." And deliver a message to bring whatever was needed for Luke to shower.

Vader slightly turns his head back towards the bedrooms. "Clothing isn't an issue."

Fantastic dresses just seemed to happen on Naboo. Anakin had one thought.

There was clothing, fabric, and sewing bots - repairing and getting new clothing wasn't a problem here.

"I don't want a sonic."

He wants to feel clean. Even if it's awkward to manage, he wants a shower with water and to clean himself from top to bottom.

"Isn't it? Because everything I have, I'm wearing. Unless you want me to raid Padme's wardrobe." And he's assuming that that is sacrosanct.

Luke is their child, but he's an adult - if he was an actual child, Vader would have much less issue taking from Padmé's closet.

It also depended on what was in there.

"Her's are not the only clothing here. There is likely trunks of fabric as well." Look he knew how she packed.

Padme was also basically the same size as Luke, which is only a little bit hilarious.

"Yeah, because I'm a great tailor, even when I have a dominant hand."

Crafting a circuit from scratch and sewing are the same skill on a different scale. He would handle it. "You are being difficult."

Also. Sewing bots.

There were nothing like the same skill.

"I'm pointing out problems you're ignoring or unused to," he counters.

Fine, frafting a magnetic memory core chip from scratch and embroidery are the same skill in different scales.

"Unused to, not ignoring. Which doesn't mean I didn't think of them." Boots are more of an issue. "Once Bee Two arrives, I will find you a robe and towel."

Luke's boots are dirty, but in fair condition still. He'll clean them up while he dries off. Or chase down a droid to do it, since he's a bit disadvantaged right now.

"How long are we staying here?"

"You are the one who needs to eat." There was likely fruit around - berries and a couple fruit trees outside, fish and fresh-water crustaceans in the lake he knew, and most likely a bottle or two of wine, but not much else. Padmé stopped to buy groceries when she stayed here.

"Yeah. I do. That's part of why I was asking." He had a lot of reasons for asking. "I assume there's fish, but I only know how to cook those on an open fire. Haven't been many kitchens in my life in the last few years."

"Fruit as well. Some crab-like things." He could sort of cook, but. Not very well. Padmé loved to cook.

He considers what he'd do if Luke asks him to cook, decides he'd make an effort.

"I remember how."

"Or I start a fire outside." He's mostly joking. Mostly. "I can probably manage fine, Beru made sure I knew how to fend for myself. Unless the kitchen here is so fancy that I can't work it out."

He's a Skywalker. He can work it out.

It's outdated at this point, by Core standards. Possibly by Naboo standards - he wasn't sure.

But by Tattooine standards, especially moisture farmers? It was quite advanced. Not that he doubted Luke would figure it out.

"The beach is suited for that." Padmé and her handmaidens had done that, he remembered vaguely.

"And at the worst, there's still rations." He's eaten far worse than preserved rations.

"At worse there are rations." If he'd been content with that, he wouldn't have worried about Luke needing to eat.

"I can hear Bee Two." Luke wouldn't be able to yet, but if he wanted to take advantage of that fresh water to drink he might want to.

Luke goes to meet the droid first. The shell is removed, examinations are done and the end sealed with a waterproof, bacta patch to keep it doing its thing and to keep the pain down.

He's approved to take a real shower and comes back to announce it to Vader. "I can have a shower. I'll be a while."

As soon as Vader could hear Luke was with the Droid, he'd ask slipped off, to set up one of the refreshers. To lay out soap, towels, a mat on the floor. To gather up a robe (one of Skywalker's old ones, shorter in length and sleeve than Padmé wore, but of a similar construction and blue velvet) that he knew would be too big on Luke, but it would work.

"Follow me. Leave your clothing out, so it can be measured and cleaned," he comments as he hands over the robe.

Luke vanishes into the fresher. His clothes are set outside shortly after, roughly folded and with his boots next to them.

He locks the door and plans on being a long time. To clean, to cry, to scream, maybe. Most importantly, to be alone with his thoughts for a while.

Vader handed over the boots to a cleaning bot, took measurements of Luke's clothing, and handed them over to be cleaned and mended.

Took to closets for fabric and clothing, and just as importantly, finding a piece of luggage.

By the time Luke emerged he might only have a new outfit finished and his old one clean, but he'll have a few more drafted.

Nothing really worthy of Naboo, but. It was what he could do.

Luke's in there a long time. it involves two showers, a break down and a chunk of time sitting in a corner wondering if it's too late to make a run for the water and hope something eats him.

He's feeling a lot less inclined to try and kill himself. Whatever Vader's plan, it wasn't anything immediate.

He checks outside the door for clothing and eventually comes to find Vader, dressed in his old clothes, repaired and cleaned, the right cuff rolled up past the burn to leave the stump revealed.
