It was two months after Endor.

A perfectly normal (for him) night's sleep was interrupted. It was like a mental hiccup, or a system reboot. He wasn't aware of anything and then-

The bond snapped into place before he gained awareness. It was old and young and familiar, a previously cautious candlelight that felt closer to a hearthfire now, tempered and warming and clear. The memories rushed back as he woke, sitting up with a choked gasp and a flare of Force awareness and anxiety bright enough that he felt Leia awaken on the otherside of the system with it.

He couldn't explain to her. To anyone. All he could do was throw on clothes as he went, grabbing the bare necessities and choking out something about 'Jedi business, another Jedi, I can feel him' before he was loading up R2 and the X-Wing.

Outer Rim.

He went to Botajef. Intersection of major hyperspace lanes. Near Dathomir, near Yavin, it felt significant and right.

And once he was there, he set himself outside of the main city and he reached out, along the bond and just in general, because he knows the bond is good, but at the same time, he isn't confident about it.

Cal Kestis. I'm here. I know you.

The hand just makes Luke relax a little bit, humming softly into the kiss, and the next one and the one after that. He's already using the Force to pluck at the various buckles of Cal's flight suit, his hands still stroking his cheeks and feeling the roughness along his jaw.

At this point, he might have expected those hands to move on somewhere else. He'll take it that Luke likes the prickliness, but it's a little funny that he's still feeling it out.

"Really thought we were gonna shower first," he murmurs with amusement, idly massaging the back of Luke's neck.

So the smell must not be too bad.

Luke likes the prickliness. And touching Cal's skin, which is readily available on his face.

"Got distracted," he murmurs, but he breaks the kisses to sit up on Cal's lap. "I can move and we can go and get in the shower instead if you'd like."

He hums in thought as he plays with some of the hair at the nape of Luke's neck. Would he like that? Maybe he just mostly wants to get out of these clothes.

"Nah," he says, and straightens up to kiss Luke again. "I don't mind."

It brings back a memory, their last night in Duplicity (his, at least) and sitting outside, bundled against the chill and Luke in Cal's lap. He moves suggestively against Cal, then they're kissing again.

"Okay. Less clothes anyway?"

That move pulls a quiet sound from Cal, trapped in the back of his throat.

"Definitely."

So if Luke's done pressing himself as close as possible for the time being, Cal is going to get to work on divesting himself of this suit. They really should have done that before sitting down anywhere, but it is what it is. He'll move as little as he can.

It's going to be pretty difficult to get completely undressed. At least, it will be for Luke, straddling Cal as he is. He does ditch his belt and overlays and then gets his tunic open before he comes to the disappointing realisation that he does need to move away.

It comes through the link, the need to get naked, to move to do so, regret at moving away, wanting to get undressed. And then he slides back and off Cal's lap, watching his face as he finishes stripping himself down to naked.

Maybe a big part of the ease of being with Luke has to do with that link. There's barely any need to talk, when they immediately know what the other one intends just with the very thought. Getting a heads up doesn't mean he likes Luke moving off him, of course, and he heaves an overdramatic sigh as he pulls a hand through his hair and follows suit. To get all this off him, he might as well stand too.

He did consider staying put to watch Luke strip, because he's beautiful and he could never get enough of watching him, but it's been far too long since they were together and he'd much rather be skin to skin quicker. So he reluctantly takes his eyes off Luke to focus on his clothes.

Luke is barely watching what he's doing, because he's watching Cal strip with far more interest. It's only been a week and it's a lifetime, it's Cal's lifetime and it's written on his skin and in his gaze.

There's new scars. Less than there could be, more than he likes. There's that extra bulk that comes from being mid thirties, not just before twenty and still lean and slender.

He absently steps out of his pants, shoving the piles of cloth aside with a thought and lingering for a moment. He wants to press in close again, but he needs to take a moment to look and take it in and find how much he wants Cal all over again.

"You're still gorgeous."

And compliments still make him duck his head a little with a smile, as it turns out. Or maybe that's just because it's Luke saying them and he hasn't heard that in so long now. It flares in his chest like a nebula.

He quickly lifts his head again, though.

"And you're more gorgeous than I remember."

"Flatterer," Luke murmurs, still staring, still smiling softly at Cal. The love in his chest feels like it could burst out; the lust is a pretty strong second though.

Force, I want you is the thought that may or may not get picked up, not really intentionally broadcast but definitely out there to be heard.

"Here? Bed? Shower?" He's stepping in toward Cal as he asks, hands reaching out for him.

Oh, decisions.

Maybe those hands mean to touch him somewhere, but he starts with reaching his own out to grab them as he steps in to join Luke halfway. Then, he slides those hands up Luke's arms to settle on his elbows as he rests their foreheads together.

They're off the couch anyway, so maybe they might as well move. And if it's the first time after eighteen years ...

"Bed."

If Cal hadn't reached, Luke would've grabbed his waist, probably. But there are hands and he catches them, lets them run over his arms and pull him close.

"Okay," he agrees, eyes closing as they lean in together. "Bed sounds good."

He straightens again, tugging Cal towards the bed. He pushes at the bond softly: Does Cal want Luke to back off a little to let Cal refamiliarise himself with him?

That's Luke for you. Always so mindful and caring. Now that Cal spends so much of his time either alone or with people looking at him like their saviour, it's strange to have someone be concerned about him like this.

He follows along with the tug, and responds to the push: It's all right, really. But they're not in a rush.

It does draw another grin. "Good. Because I sort of want to climb you like a tree and ride you like a dewback, but I don't want to overwhelm you or steamroll you."

But Cal's right, there's not really a rush, except that he sort of wants to rush. He wants to push Cal back on the bed and explore all those new marks and does Cal want too?

Well. Nothing to do but laugh at that, and he surges forward to kiss Luke again, brief but firm.

"I'd be impressed if you overwhelmed me."

Yet, he wouldn't put it past Luke either. Anything could happen at this point, because it's been so long and he's not sure he could say he's met anyone quite like Luke in that time. Honestly, he might like that. He might like just about anything.

That sounds like a challenge. One he might not be able to achieve, but they could have a lot of fun attempting it.

Luke peels away from Cal to throw himself backward onto the bed, bouncing with a chuckle and stretching his arms over his head. "Come show me how much you missed me," he purrs, the Force tugging Cal closer anyway.

Luke, of course, remembers very well just what Cal used to like. And, it seems, he still does like; the picture Luke makes with his arms draped like that, speaking with a purr. It works like a charm, stoking the arousal coiling in him, and he has to take a breath, sharp between his teeth.

The pull of the Force makes him stumble just so, and he lets that momentum carry him onto the bed, even if it's not the most graceful thing. From there, he crawls up Luke's body with a grin, and leans down until their lips just touch.

"You're ridiculous. I love you."

And then he closes the rest of the distance in a searing kiss.

Cal liked how Luke looked and it seems he still does. The spike of arousal echoes, making Luke gasp and arch a little more, letting himself feel it.

He's being kissed before he can reply, and he grabs hold of Cal's body with his limbs and the Force, surging up into the kiss. There's an electric thrill at the crush of their bodies, of feeling their cocks brushing and then pressing tight.

"Your face- is ridiculous," he gasps out. I love you too.

There are so many things he could do to show Luke just how much he's missed him, so many places he could touch, so many ways he could kiss him. But that sort of gets lost with the mingling of both their need through the bond, and all he can do is cup Luke's jaw and rock his hips down against him with a helpless moan that mingles with a laugh.

"My-- My face?"

That's what you're going with?

There's no words in reply; Luke laughs into the kiss as much as he moans. His legs have managed to get around Cal's waist to pull them closer together and it makes Cal's movement all the better, the suggestive rock and push up against his own body.

It pushes out everything but the overwhelming feelings of love and want, he loves this man so much, he wants him so badly.

There's never been anyone else he's had this bond with, not exactly, and it's getting difficult to tell where he ends and Luke begins. But that's also quickly getting less important, with Luke's legs around him and Luke's body rocking against his.

With a gasping breath, he breaks the kiss in favour of lavishing Luke's throat with lips and tongue. It's a start of everything he'd like to do through the need to just be close. It helps that they could hardly be much closer than they already are.

With Cal's mouth leaving his own, Luke is left gasping his soft sounds to the air. His fingers clutch Cal's shoulders, nails digging in to pull himself up, into each movement even as his heels dig into the small of his back to do the same.

It wouldn't take much, wouldn't take long. He manages to push his thoughts at Cal, how badly he wants Cal to fuck him, get them off, feel Cal in his body as much as in his spirit.

The way Luke is practically clinging onto him is maddening, and if he had any real sense about what he was doing before, that's started to fray at the seams. It's getting less and less important exactly what they do, for all that Luke's words about riding him still echo in his mind. Then comes Luke's thoughts and wants, and there's no denying those. He couldn't possibly.

With a gasping breath, he makes himself slow down, stops himself moving against Luke just for a moment. But he doesn't move from where his face is buried against his throat.

"You've got lube, right?"

No chance Luke hadn't prepared all of that.

They have time to get through a whole checklist of 'want to do'. That fact doesn't make Luke any happier about Cal slowing down.

He groans and flings his hand out; the drawer rips out from the bedside table and onto the floor, the tube of lube thumping into Luke's hand.

"Yeah." As if he hasn't just half trashed the bedside furniture.
